Airdrop can be used for cross-device transfer but by 2026, there is a powerful application like xender which have so many features than the apple's application. Xender have two-way sharing option, sender side control over bulk transfer, & offline media play. Xender have feature for bi-directional device sharing, which allows to perform two way transfer between two devices. It's quite known that apple airdrop can be used as one way transfer between two devices. For example, if device a wants to share some content with device b, first of all it has to initiate the share request via apple id (for verification purpose), then it will look forward for device b to get connected via Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi. When received content, if device b wants to share something back to device a, again it has to initiate the airdrop request.
